Rather agitated that on its no less than third ride and barely halfway to its first service/maintenance, the $200 Polaris mirrors couldn’t take a whack from a mesquite bush without the mirror cracking…

Side View Adjustable Folding Mirrors for Polaris XPEDITION, Vehicle Frame Mounted, Set of 2 | Polaris XPEDITION

This was NOT a tree branch, it was a mesquite bush which is extremely common around these here parts. The mirror was knocked in when it happened (as has happened before) but I’m less than pleased that a relatively minor (and frequent) impact effectively wrecked a $100 mirror.

With literally tens of thousands of miles on 5 different machines now in this (desert) environment I can’t tell how many times that’s happened and the mirrors needed to be swung back out into position and adjusted, but for it to break after a minor hit strikes me as these being low budget/build quality. I’ve THUMPED the Seizmik mirrors on my Canned Ham X3 and they never missed a beat, which is why I’m honestly taken aback about how arguably fragile these mirrors are.

NO plans to replace them unless the lens physically falls out or pieces start to do likewise, just pissed that they only held up for barely 12 hours…

Busted my passenger side not too long ago. Didn't even know it happened until we pulled into the driveway and I looked over and saw it was pushed in. Told the wife to push it out for and said WTF is that cracked! Sure enough it was. I told the wife I didn't even know I hit something and she says you hit that branch back there. I was in denial about hitting anything to the point I argued with her over it (of course). I told her to show me what it hit and we headed back down the trail. When she showed me I still didn't believe it. It was a little twig that still had a few years to go before it could be called a branch! I asked her 20 times if she was sure that's what it hit and she said it was. Still pissed about it. On a good note the clear packaging tape is holding up well.

Whatever the actual mirror is made of started to flake off just about immediately. I've been waiting for someone to break one so when I buy a replacement set I can sell the other one.

What's the chances you need a driver side mirror 😆

I’ll have to bump this thread occasionally and “hopefully” we’ll get some folks that bust the driver’s side mirror so we can buy a set or two and split the difference.

I am NOT in a hurry to replace it after such a seemingly minor impact trashed it.

All I have to say about the “quality” of this mirror is…

I agree they are junk !! I broke the passenger side and wasn't gonna buy a set for one side so I went to local glass place and had them put a piece of mirror in the housing ! It wasn't good !! I think the mirror from Polaris is a little convex or something cause the piece that was put in wasn't the same as the factory one, but better than nothing ! For two rides :ROFLMAO: Now it's broke again !!! Not sure what I'm gonna do now !!:p:ROFLMAO:

I put on over 5000 miles on my 2025 expeditions since May. Most of those miles was on rough trails with lots of stuff Branches hitting my mirrors. Had no problem with them.

Congratulations. Here’s your cookie…🙄

Clearly despite your 5K miles on “rough trails”, etc. I’m not the only one that’s had a problem with these mirrors being fragile for their intended purpose so the issue I’m raising is hardly anecdotal.

The Seizmik mirrors on my X3 have sustained Major League Baseball bat hits…and have done nothing more than fold in. Their glass is set in a rubber isolator molding inside the mirror itself and are ruggedized to a standard I was clearly mistaken to expect out of the Polaris garbage.

Why be a dick? His experience is different, just like mine is. I've seen a few posts.Seems like the majority are fine.Get over it and buy something else.

OR, here’s an idea if you wanna white knight for Polaris/Bvanwing…start your own thread about how great they are!

Your response is pretty thin skinned for a guy with “snowflake” in his avatar…

The entire purpose of forums like this is to discuss what does or doesn’t work. I posted my experience as a potential warning, which was shorted validated by others with similar experiences. Are there gonna be a whole bunch of people that have dissimilar experiences? Of course there are, but mine is hardly anecdotal.

From what I’ve seen here some people’s idea of “off roading” is…laughable. Driving down a fire road wide enough for a tractor trailer that wouldn’t challenge the suspension of an ‘85 Toyota Corolla isn’t MY idea of off-roading, but “you do you” as they say, I actually beat the snot out of mine, and use it for its intended purpose. I expect parts to wear and eventually fail under hard use in an unforgiving environment, but a mirror breaking from hitting a literally bush, NOT branch, isn’t acceptable.

That being said, as a Polaris ambassador I have NOT filed a customer service ticket for replacement, and I have NO doubt they would, there’s alternatives out there and I would rather buy something else than have to deal with this nonsense again…

The icing on the cake is I asked my dealer if they had the take-offs from where the mirrors install because at least one aftermarket mirror needs those to install. When they said yes and asked why I told him one of my mirrors broke…

…to which he responded, “no shit, we just had that happen to another customer.”

“Butt hurt…thin skinned…”? I’d say your response is the textbook definition of exactly that.

Oh…OK…I know what it is! You got jealous that I gave them a cookie and you didn’t get anything….

Maybe after that and a nap you’ll feel a little better…? 🤣

This is also for y’all, because you clearly forgot:

* Full disclosure and to avoid additional wrath from the smooth-brain types, I purposely avoided using an image of an actual person with disabilities…because I’m NOT an asshole.

But by all means, keep running your suck, you’ll think of something to say. 😜

I’d like to offer my most sincere apologies to @DogRunner2 and @Bvanwing for my unwarranted jackassery and asshattery…

I also choose NOT to delete my posts and clean up the scene of the crime either; it can serve me as a reminder to do better in the future and practice the Golden Rule, which I clearly failed to do in this case and I hope y’all can forgive me.

Thanks…
