Oh yea,why is that?Just use Amsoil and you don't have to use any additives !!!
Interesting point about zinc I’ve noticed a lot of classic car owners still swear by adding a bit for extra wear protection. Personally, I focus more on sticking to high-quality oil and timely changes, which seems to make a bigger difference in performance.Anyone adding a little zinc to their oil?

Because it is so much better than the factory oil that you don't need any other additives !Oh yea,why is that?
I'm using Mobil 1 . I wonder what the zinc content is in Amsoil.Because it is so much better than the factory oil that you don't need any other additives !
I'm not sure of the actual zinc content, but I know the Amsoil is 3 times better wear protection than Mobil 1. That is from the industry standard " four ball wear test".I'm using Mobil 1 . I wonder what the zinc content is in Amsoil.
That's great that you like it. I've never heard of a problem with Mobil 1.I'm not sure of the actual zinc content, but I know the Amsoil is 3 times better wear protection than Mobil 1. That is from the industry standard " four ball wear test".
Zinc is need in classic cars because of the flat tapped lifters in older engines. Low/no zinc will cause the cam to go flat.Interesting point about zinc I’ve noticed a lot of classic car owners still swear by adding a bit for extra wear protection. You're claiming that Amsoil is 3 times better so I thought you must know of some issue,I never said there was !!!![]()
Not really an issue… just different brands have different additives or formulas to their lubricants. Amsoil is one of the best oils by film strength, viscosity and breakdown tests. There’s nothing wrong with Mobile 1 either. You're claiming that Amsoil is 3 times better so I thought you must know of some issue,![]()
No sir ! Just quoting test results from an industry standard test which shows that Amsoil is 3 times better so it needs no extra additives added for superior protection !!You're claiming that Amsoil is 3 times better so I thought you must know of some issue,![]()
I just like seeing what the Amsoi and Rotella guys have to say,Not really an issue… just different brands have different additives or formulas to their lubricants. Amsoil is one of the best oils by film strength, viscosity and breakdown tests. There’s nothing wrong with Mobile 1 either.
The main thing is to avoid mixing brands. Some of their additives aren’t compatible with the others and can cause problems.
