Polaris Roof Rack

I picked up a spare tire and wanted to put it on a roof rack. Thinking that is is around $600 and that I have a $100 Polaris Accessories coupon that needed to be used, I figured let's do this.

I called the dealer to see if I could use my $100 coupon at the store. They said I could.... awesome. I asked if they had the Rhino roof rack in stock. They said they did and the cost is $589.99. Then he said that I would need the mounting kit, which is another $579.99. WTF? Yeah, I'm not doing that!

Yeah the price on some xpedition items are insane. With that said I love my rhino rack and glad I got it when I purchased mine.

I ordered the Rhino rack from the dealership, yep around a grand but so is Thumper Fab. My thought is our Jeep has a Rhino rack on it also so anything I buy for one will work on the other.

I used aluminum spacers and longer bolts to go through the original holes in the roof.

I'm a fan of the full rack and spare is riding up high. Works great for me.

I used the Prinsu roof rack mostly because they make a bracket for the diode dynamics ss5 light bar. Having said that I was very pleased with the Prinsu rack....easy to install and seems really solid. I decided on the bed rack to mount the spare tire.

I went with SDR on the bed rack. I can't comment on any others but the SDR xplorer series works very well and allows for at least a 35" spare. I haven't had any issues with the bed rack. The SDR rack is taller than some others so be aware. This gives more room underneath for things but puts the tire pretty tall. Also the bed itself gets heavy with all that stuff back there so just be aware. I would suggest AJK bed lock tabs if you do go with the bed rack/spare. You don't want that bed tilting unexpectedly

Thank you. I will check out the AJK bed lock tabs. Did you also install AJK bed slider tray with the Milwaukee packout mounts?

I did do the drawer but not the packouts. I mounted spare axles and a cooler in the rollout tray.
