I’m assuming you mean wheel spacers?when I first got my Xpedition in 2023 I installed spacer adapters to use the wheels from my General. They were a 4/3 offset, and at the time I couldn’t find 5 lug UTV wheels.Has anyone installed 2" spacers on a XP5? Before I do I would like to know more pros and cons. Thanks
JT, If we did go with 2" wheel spacers, what is the best brand?I’m assuming you mean wheel spacers?when I first got my Xpedition in 2023 I installed spacer adapters to use the wheels from my General. They were a 4/3 offset, and at the time I couldn’t find 5 lug UTV wheels.
I’ve since replaced the wheels with 3.5/3.5 offset Packard Performance wheels.
The pros are a wider stance, better stability, and a little softer ride. And spacers are a more budget friendly alternative to replacing the wheels
The cons with spacers is additional lugs that may come loose and/or break. Since the spacer lug nuts are hidden you need to remove the wheels occasionally to check them. Whereas, with a 4/3 offset wheel, you get the same additional width without the additional failure points.
Whether you do spacers or deeper offset wheels, it’s going to add leverage to the suspension and you might need to re-spring the shocks to maintain proper ride height. Since OEM springs tend to sag, this is recommended anyway.
I’m definitely a fan of a wider stance on the Xpedition. It’s a little top heavy and at stock width feels more tippy than I like.
I don’t know that there’s a particular “best” brand on those. They’re just a chunk of billet aluminum, milled to size. They’ll pretty much all be the same mechanically speaking.JT, If we did go with 2" wheel spacers, what is the best brand?
