Stuck Winch

My winch is seized all the way in, unable to switch too freespool. I hit the switch in and out it just clicks and nothing happens. Any thoughts on how to get it un stuck?

I would try hooking up to something solid like your truck hitch. put it in reverse and while pushing the spool out button, try backing up at the same time. worth a shot

I replaced one on an Xpedition that did that same thing. I had to cut the rope off behind the fairlead plate to get it to spool. The winch rope got wound so tight it basically melted itself together.
In the end, the winch motor was burned up and had to be replaced.

The customer said the cause was something on the center console fell against the winch switch and held it on winch in. The auto stop had to have failed as well for it to pull in that hard

no. All the remote upgrade does is changes out the controller box. The auto stop works the same.

My winch quit working after one use. Took it in and they added a module and then a stop switch.
