Two free quarts of oil

I got mine too. My guess is they are trying to get us to change oil more often to reduce engine failures. The letter says to change oil more often with "prolonged high speed cruising". I know they are starting to see engine failures, especially on units that have not had the lower RPM(cruiser) clutching installed that see a lot of high RPM use. I have friends who work at Polaris who warned me to do engine oil changes more often than 50hrs. So I do mine every 35 - 40 hrs. When this engine was designed it was not intended to see 8000+ RPM's for extended periods. Polaris has tried to modify it to do that - time will tell if it worked.

I don't know why anyone buys these with all the crazy theories, lol. They're giving out 2 free quarts to get more people to use their oil.

Nope. They have never gave out oil in the past for my other SXSs and as far as I know it's only to Xpedition owners.

I recently received my letter and offer in the mail as well. These units are known to burn oil, and I have personal experience with two MY2024 ADV 4's to back that claim. Oil consumption varies depending on how the units are driven. My personal Xpedition will burn as much as 1 quart of engine oil in a 1000-mile service interval, and it has done this from day one 4000 miles ago. The other unit will burn slightly less oil due to lower RPM clutching. My dealer has performed an oil consumption test per Polaris's request, and the findings were within normal consumption levels, up to 1 quart per 1000-mile service interval. Based off my findings, the crankcase vent system has been poorly engineered. Sustained moderate to high RPM operation creates suspended oil vaper that is pushed and pulled through the crankcase vent system via blowby and intake vacuum. The oil vaper is then pulled back through the intake system and burned.
In my opinion, Polaris's intent with this letter and offering up 2 free quarts of oil is to:
  • To educate the owner that oil consumption does exist.
  • To forewarn the owner that checking oil level between service intervals is necessary and is the owner's responsibility.
  • Service intervals should be based on the owner's usage and is the owner's responsibility to schedule accordingly.
I would be willing to bet Polaris has lost more than a few engines to oil starvation directly related to this oil consumption issue, I personally know of one. My gut tells me this letter and oil offer is their mitigation plan, instead of fixing the problem...

That said, I personally check and top off my oil every 300 miles and enjoy the ride.

Just my 2 cents

…and got mine too. I was gonna go to my local dealer where I did NOT buy the machine, (because they thought after buying 4 previous machines and nearly $150K in direct business [including my friend who drove from NV to buy there instead of locally] was only worth beating another dealer by $100, but ANYWAY), I just ordered it online…

That being said and oil consumption being “normal” (I would NOT consider 1 quart every 1K miles normal, more like excessive, but again, ANYWAY) than this thread makes even more sense. $700 is a spicy meatball to make changing and topping off the oil easier, BUT…

I got a letter from Polaris with 2 free quarts of oil. I wonder why this came out. Are they burning oil? Mine has 1,600 miles and it hasn't been burning any oil.
My 2025 expedition has been using a significant amount amount of oil. I took it into the dealer and they ran all kinds of test and said they could not find anything. I also am getting two free quarts of oil from Polaris. At this point, unless there is a recall, looks like my only option is to add oil as needed.

I got my 2 free quarts of Oil on Saturday from the dealership. They said it is customer appreciation. I call BS. I have burned a quart of oil over 6 months. I have mine in for 150 hour service currently.
