We do a fair amount of highway driving with our 2015 Xpedition ADV 5 Northstar here is Arizonia. There are numerous turn signal kits available for the Xpedition. But the WD kit offered what I was looking for. The WD Electronics Turn Signal Kit offers sequential front turn signal indicators, all plug and play, all needed wiring/switches and a nice rear lighted license plate frame. It was a plus for me that I did NOT have to drill holes into the body or purchase new headlights to get a turn signal kit I liked.

I was really surprised at the level of customer support. I called with a tech question; I didn't get to talk to any and didn't leave any message. I figured I just call back later with my question. To my surprise WD called me back a short time later wanting to know why I had called. That has never happened to me before.

The box with WD is the turn signal control.

Photo of the 4-way emergency sequential turn signal starting. The actual sequential is much smoother.

We’ve done a lot of WD Turn Signal kits, but recently switched to XTC. The XTC kits are much higher quality, the controller much more compact, and they’re overall just a better system. While doing the replacement headlights is a bit more expense, they’re even cleaner than the WD sequential strips. They’re also less expensive for the pair of headlights than a single headlight from Polaris.

We have had problems with multiple WD TSKs. It’s always the left rear turn/brake. They’ll just randomly not work for a time. I haven’t found the source of the problem yet, but it’s happened on both Xpeditions and Ranger XD1500s with the WD TSKs.

XTC also uses a single rocker switch for both the hazards and horn. WD uses one each, and rocker slots are always needed, so anything that reduces slots used is a good thing.

There were a couple reasons I didn't go with the XTC system.
  1. The XTC system does not offer a kit for the Xpedition (at least I couldn't find one).
  2. I prefer a turn signal lever, not a turn signal switch on the dash. XTC does not offer a turn signal lever on the steering column. The WD turn signal lever is somewhat dust and water resistance having a rubber boot on the lever where in enters the control on the steering column.
  3. XTC requires drilling holes in the body panels for the turn signal light. I try to avoid cutting holes into any body panel.
  4. The WD kit did not require replacing my headlight to get the sequential turn signals that I wanted.
  5. Also having two switches (4-way and horn) was not a issue since I've installed an 8 Gang Switch panel. I've prewired for just about everything I plan on install and I still have open buttons. If I exceed the 8-option panel, I'll upgrade to the 12-option panel and still have just one wire controlling my electrical accessories. I was also able to use the switch blanks to mount the panel, so no cutting of the dash was involved.
  6. Now as for reliability, I'll have to wait and see. So far WD customer support has been good. But nothing has broken yet...

I bought a 24 X with the WD kit already installed. I was very happy with the sequential turn signals and the overall kit. However, on my first ride to WV, and going through puddles, then rinsing it off that evening, the front set no longer worked. Checked all the wiring and plugs under the hood but everything was secure. Next day one of the turn signals worked correctly, but the other had only one flashing light. Rear seemed to be ok. After sitting undriven for over a month, I drove it to the store and the lights all worked. Then one of the fronts quit again. Not sure what's going on, but it isn't a cheap kit. Kinda disappointed.

Have you contacted WD customer tech support? So far my dealings with them have been good.

I wasn’t a fan of the rocker turn signal switch either. And at first, that’s all XTC offered.
Now they do have Xpedition kits, and have an aluminum billet steering column switch.

It’s also only recently that they introduced the replacement headlights with turn signals in the accent/drl lights. My main problem with the WD sequential lights is that they tend to pop out unless you glue them in place. Otherwise they’re neat enough. It’s just cleaner looking without either the round lights or the sequential strip.

The rest of my preference towards XTC is as an installer. I take pride in my work and make sure everything is as cleanly done as I can. WD makes that hard with the bulky controller box, stubby pigtails coming out of it, and low quality connectors.

All said and done, it is personal preference. If someone prefers WD or Ryco or any of the others, that’s what we install.

I've bought the WD Electronics for my 2026 Xpedition ADV. I've used them before. So I went with them again.
Now, there is a 38 minute YouTube video on installing the kit. It is excellent. The video goes step by step through removing parts, installing the WD components. The videos is going to be great for helping install my AuxBeam 8 switch kit, my Rugged Radio gear and antenna. So nice to see how the Xpedition comes apart and goes back together. Probably allow me to install four accessories at the same time! Cool!!

As big of a PIA the Xpedition is to take apart, definitely a smart idea to do everything at once. I wish I had of installed a Viper shifter while I had mine apart..

As far as turn signal kits go, I used Ryco. I will not use again. Instructions are pathetic. I had to use WD Electronics instructions to install the Ryco

I have Ryco on mine as well simply because they, and WD, were the only ones with TSKs available at the time and I wanted the all-in-one stalk switch. I modified the rear harness to use WD’s trailer harness adapter though, rather than tying into the taillights.
There’s a lot more options now than back then.

How's the performance of the replacement headlights? I've been looking at this kit, but I'm concerned about the headlights. Can the running lights be set to amber ?

From the customer who’s Xpedition we installed a set on, he says they’re great for light coverage and brightness. But they do have a shadow line at the top. It’s likely because they’re projector LEDs where the OEM are reflector LED.
Overall, he said he likes them.

It’s just a single wire connection for the Amber turn signals. The circuit for shutting off the running light for the turn signal is built into the headlights. So yeah, you could put constant power to the turn signal wire and have it run Amber, but you wouldn’t have the turn signal function.

I used the Corbin Custom Works Kit . I didn't want the lever . The corbin headlights are much brighter than stock and if you forget to turn of the rocker switch they auto turn off after 40sec's .

The XTC kit is auto cancelling as well. The column switch is momentary and doesn’t lock into direction. If you just bump it in the direction it blinks 5 times. You can hold it a little longer and it’ll blink longer. Or hold it 3+ seconds and it’ll blink until you cancel it.

Ok, good to know. I have amber lights that come on with my fog lights, plus my light bar on the roof has amber backlighting, so I was hoping I could run the amber lights in the headlights as well.
