iPod connection issues

I know this is a problem and has been brought up a thousand times.... Is there a solution for hooking up an iPod(newer generation) via USB or Bluetooth I've tried everything recommended. Hooking up via USB cable, deleting all Bluetooth connections, restarting ride command and even updating ride command even though it was already updated in July when I bought my machine. Beyond frustrating for a 40k + machine. Thanks in advance
