oil leak from plug

Well due to family issues and other forms life problems I let my xp sit for 4 to 5 months. and the other day I decided to put some sound deadening in the cab and below and on the uhm skid plate. While under there I saw oil hanging from the oil drain plug then felt around the meatal area below/ skeleton/ frame and found more but like drops not a pool as most have found. So, I'm going to pull plug out do oil change and see if 12 ft pounds as I believe is the right amount of torque on the plug. and drive a few miles and see if that was it just not tight enough for it. Also, upon inspection of oil pan no visible leaks around the pan
