Spare Tire Poll - Do you carry one?

I pick up the XP5 on May 31st and I'm wondering if I should buy a spare tire. Or, should I just carry the patch kit and an air compressor that I carried in the Jeep.

On very long trips I will carry the spare. I always carry plugs, several bottles of slime, Glue tread and a sidewall slug as well as a compressor. Also carry a Colby valve stem.

I have carried a spare since the purchase. After rock climbing at Tackett creek in TN, I removed the spare and will just rely on the repair items I already carry. It made a huge difference since it was up on a roof top carrier and the top heaviness of the ride. Good luck.

So far, there have been 17 votes. 4 own and carry a spare. 2 own and carry it sometimes. 1 owns one, never carries it but is glad that they have it. Which leaves 10 that does not own one. So, out of 17, 4 carries a spare with them all of the time.

I own one and it stays on trailer with my trailer spare. I Carry gluetread kit and compressor.

The only time we’ve taken a spare with us is out on our large group camping trips. Just 1 spare for the whole group
It’s pretty much a “just in case” thing, as there’s usually anywhere from 5 to 10 Xpeditions in the group. And we’re usually camping 90 miles away from anything. We’ve never had to use it thus far. Almost every machine carries plug kits, patches and an air compressor.

I had to change my vote. The dealer offered me a great deal on a swapped out tire and rim. They gave me the 10" front to use as a spare. We did a 80 mile loop the other day on rocky terrain. Nothing happened, but if it did, I would have been 20 miles from help. The spare is cheap insurance.

Ditto for me too. The dealer had a brand new matching front for $250 from someone who upgraded theirs. I sometimes go places a 4-wheeler can't get to, so it would be a real ordeal if a tire blew out.

Today, I stopped off at Harbor Freight to get a bottle jack. The 8 ton was half off for members, so, $20.

I wish they made a Jeep style tire holder, one that would swing out at tailgate level.
