Went out and bought the factory heater kit first of many upgrades I want to do on this thing

While you have all that apart is a great time to pack any areas behind the dash that allow dust and air through

Was thinking the same thing great idea. Was looking at the rubberize sticky tape they have at the rv repair shops. Using it to fill the spots were it’s needed

Printed out the instructions be aware it’s like 130 some pages long, but it takes you step by step. Even goes through putting it back together. It’s time consuming like 7hrs. But overall it’s simple.

Finished the install, sorry for the lack a of pictures. Wanted to finish it Tuesday to go riding yesterday. What a difference it made. Impressive on how warm it keep the cab. Started the day in about 40 degrees and wind about 20-25. After about 20 minutes had to slow it down a bit. The one I might do is take the thermostat out and of the upper hose, and reinstall the factory hose with the tee. Sucks waiting for the rig to hit around 180 for it to start blowing warm air out the vents

So I’ve taken it out a few times really love the heater options. Couple concerns, never had the temp above 205, before the heater install. On the fan relay fan kicks on sometimes when getting to around the 220 mark, sometimes it doesn’t. So has anyone found a solution to the problem. Second have a pooping noise when crawling in the front left. When it comes back down, and contacts the ground

I'm guessing you meant popping noise
That is possibly the infamous front end "CLUNK" that has been discussed for many moons. My machine has been to the dealership several times for it. The last thing they did was replace the steering rack which initially I thought got rid of the noise however, after short time it was back. Not sure if anyone who had it addressed ever had it completely stop. The rougher the terrain the more you may hear it. I believe that's how it was for others on here.

Ran a few times. Thinking of taking the inline thermostat out. It’s fine when just driving it on trails, but when it’s get into more of the crawling it will stay up around the the 225/240 mark witch I’m not really liking. Has anyone have this issue when installing the factory aftermarket kit.

I haven’t seen any inline thermostats on these Xpeditions. Is it something that came with the heater kit?

It does it replaces on of the hoses going to the radiator. It’s installed right before the t’s going to the heater core

Sounds like it might be installed improperly,(if that’s possible).

I just looked over the installation manual. I’d check the flow direction first, if you haven’t already. If it is installed correctly, then removing it would be the next step. Without that thermostat, your heater may not work as well, but without a restriction in the cooling hose your engine cooling should work properly.

That’s was the first thing I looked at when I got back home after the first ride. The install of the thermostat is correct. What I might do remove it, and take it do a ride see how it does. My next option is to take the housing apart a drill holes in the thermostat
