has anyone taken the tailgate apart?

Need to attach a piece of wood to tailgate on the inside of it for support of a slide out for a rough county 50L frig/cooler when its fully extended, I attached it to the Rubber bed mat so it can be pulled out when needed easily.

Got slider installed, piece of wood attached to tailgate is just to support slide and cooler when extended, was able to open tailgate enough to get a nut on a bolt holding the wood. Hopefully no more ice.
