My lovely wife decided that she wanted an Xpedition. (she likes her creature comforts) So we traded in our 2018 RZR XP1000 on a '26 ADV 2-door. The 2018 RZR XP1000 was a spare that we loaned to family and friends who came to visit and it was not used frequently. I have installed fender flares, toolbox, visors, mirrors, WD Electronics turn signal kit w/ sequential lights and hazards and rock lights. I still have to install a phone mount and spare USB ports.
So, at our home, we currently have a 2021 General XP1000 that is used almost every day for various tasks. At our vacation house we have our 2023 RZR XP-Pro for rock crawling and trail riding and the Xpedition for trail riding and quick, around town trips.
My impressions on the Xpedition in the first six months of ownership are:
Pros:
It has a comfortable seating position.
The A/C works good up to about 100° F.
The interior layout and ergonomics are well thought out.
The clutch is predictable with solid engagement.
The suspension is compliant in rough terrain.
Fully lockable cab doors and rear window. (this is the first SxS we've owned with them)
Cons:
It's a pig weight wise.
Handling is so-so. (mainly due to its weight and the top heaviness) I'll play around with the suspension settings to see if I can improve this.
Driving down the highway into a headwind sucks. (I'm used to more power on the top end)
Working on it or doing basic modifications takes three times longer than any SxS I've ever worked on.
Overall, it's not too bad. Just different.
