0 miles so far. Just adding accessories. Still looking for some type of side mirror that doesn’t look ridiculous.

Sure hope Seizmik is working on mirrors for these. I’ve already broken my driver side mirror twice. My brother broke his passenger side mirror and bought a new set so I was able to use the other one the first time. Second time I had to buy another set. It’s ridiculous to have to pay $200 for a small piece of glass.

The first time a small rock off the tires cracked it and the second time I hit a fence post that was leaning way out into the trail while going pretty fast. Neither time damaged the housing, just cracked the glass. But Polaris doesn’t sell just replacement glass or even single side mirror assemblies so you have to buy a whole new set. Also, on the second time, the mirror wouldn’t have broken if the back had been harder. The post hit the back of the mirror and flipped it in but still shattered the glass.

I have heard that some have installed Seizmik Pursuit side mirrors directly to the doors on the Expedition Northstar. If so does anyone have any pictures they are willing to share. thanks

I would recommend the oem mirrors. Factory fit for machine,
are of good quality, and maybe a 20 minute install. Not sure why someone would go another direction unless they were wanting a lighted mirror.

Having broken 2 mirrors already, thus having to purchase 2 full sets of them from Polaris simply because I needed the glass part, I’d be more than happy to buy Seizmik for the replaceable glass and lifetime warranty.
I’d prefer not to have a weird mount situation but if I break one more, I’ll be done with the oem ones.

I currently have a set of Seizmik's on a Polaris General and they are very nice. Just not sure I want to start drilling holes in an Expedition to see how they work. LOL

I had them on my General too and really liked them. But they had a mount that looked clean.
On the Xpedition you’d currently have to use the cab tube mount, which would put them a little high or come up with another mount solution. Hopefully Seizmik is working on something clean.

JT, Do you know of solutions that involve just replacing the mirror itself in the Polaris side mirrors. I too keep breaking the side mirrors and replacing with the spendy two complete side mirrors ...complete with mounting base?

Other than Sector Seven for the Northstars (which are quite expensive) I haven’t seen a reasonable mirror solution for the Xpedition that doesn’t require buying a new set, just for a broken glass.
There are lower price options through Kemimoto and others on Amazon, which are identical to the Polaris mirror sets.

Someone on here did say they mounted Seizmic mirrors to the OEM A-Pillar Plastic, with a fender washer on the back for support. I could see that working, though if it gets hit hard enough it could tear the plastic panel off. The benefit would be considerably less expense to just replace the mirror glass.

I’m leaning towards this route next time I break a mirror.

Finally an update on the mirror problem. Chupacabra has come out with an Xpedition A-pillar mount for their Cuero UTE mirror. I just picked one up at UTV Takeover, and I’ll post pics as soon as I get them mounted.

The nice part is they’re inexpensive, at just over $200 for the mirrors and mounts. And replacement glasses are $8.

Will they replace the Polaris mirror and it's mount? Dealer throws away the blank piece and installs the mirrors so it would have to fit and replace where the Polaris mirror mounts.

That’s the one problem. If you’ve already done the Polaris mirrors you need to get the original panels back. We’ve just asked our dealer for any of those that they’re going to throw away, and they’ve already given us 2 sets.
If your dealer is decent enough, they’ll give you the throwaways. If they’re not, they’ll make you buy them.

I have not bought my Expedition yet but I'm going to do the same thing I did on my general. I bought my general in the spring and mounted the rear view mirrors on the a pillars then when winter came and I put on the canvas & window enclosure and they interfered with the rear view mirror so I took them off and replaced them with a wolf box digital rear view mirror. You mount the camera in the back and I mounted the actual mirror directly in front of the steering wheel. Having it mounted in front of the steering wheel allows you to just glance down rather than to have to look up and to the side. It also blocks less of the windshield. Here in Minnesota we ride some pretty tight trails and the mirrors hanging off the side of the rig just created problems.

The first picture shows the rear view mirror before turning it on. The second picture shows the rear view the third picture shows the front view the fourth picture shows the split view front and back and the fifth picture shows the camera.

Just finished installing the Chupacabra Cuero UTE mirrors on my Xpedition. Overall, they look great and have way more adjustability than the Polaris side mirrors.

Installation is a bit tricky (some of it shown in the video above). But also because Polaris welding jigs can be a way off sometimes. As it turned out I had to grind the lips down on both sides, where they’re bent out. They were holding the plastic panels out too far. Also, all the bolts were 3mm-5mm too long. Since I didn’t have proper length ones handy, I just cut off the ones they sent.

Fit and finish, once they’re installed, is excellent. They look very clean on the machine.

With the standard price of the Cuero UTE Mirrors and Xpedition mounts at $220 and replacement glass at only $8… there’s really no reason to ever get the Polaris mirrors again.

Broken Polaris mirrors on an Xpedition you say?

Naw…un-possible!

First casualty…

I’m not glad to see other folks are having the same shit experience I am, but it does validate my opinion that they’re fragile and not exactly trail worthy…
