Water crossing depth on northstar

I seen our XP Northstar has a max depth of 17" and the non HVAC model is 28" and I assume it's the cover over the Alt. And AC compressor and the duct outlet should stay above water. I have no real interest for go in deep water but crossed a few deeper than thought in past.
Can that exhaust snorkel be raised with a kit? Watched some Vids of dirt dudes with a northstar go to top of hood but I feel he doesn't care.

Still curious on what can be done with snorkel on pass. Side of engine that vents for alt. and air cond. to keep water out if we hit deeper water

That is not the Northstar edition with the air conditioner compressor. It is 17.8 inches
