AC code 5 876 which is a fault in the AC clutch circuit.
I think I'm going to be hyper detailed in this post, as I'm not finding anything online and I had to do some serious searching to get to the point I am at right now... I will also try to upload pictures of diagrams and everything if this forum will let me.
First off I tore apart the dash, I fully thought I was dealing with a bad sensor, I found that I was not getting any voltage to my HPCO switch on either wire. I then found out that the hpco operates normally closed, and is simply a pass through for ground from the ecm through the HPCO to the clutch relay. I tested continuity from the hpco back to the clutch relay post, that was fine. I found that if I grounded the relay manually the clutch would engage properly. From there I worked backwards from the HPCO switch to the ECM. I found after some pissing around that the pin going into the ECM was snapped, the bottom portion was still locked into the connector BUT the wire was just sortof sitting in the hole not making contact. This connector is a Bosch brand connector, I contacted bosh to attempt to purchase a pigtail, they will not sell me anything or provide support on that plug as it is a polaris proprietary plug. Their only answer is to call polaris. I did, they don't service that plug, the only option they gave me was to replace the entire harness.
PLUG/ CONNECTOR SOLUTION:
Chief enterprises ( Bosch united states company) sells replacement terminals on their website, after taking measurements and cross referencing with a known good terminal in the connector I came up with this part number : 1928492556 as a viable replacement for those terminals.
I also found that I was getting 4.5v on the evap thermostat, but nothing was coming out of it on the other side. Originally i thought this was the culprit however i found that this switch is normally open, and is only closed when the temp gets below 28 degrees, it then closes to tell the ecm it's going to freeze up soon if it continues to operate.
My issue is now that I have created a new issue from all my diagnostics, I have a "no start " situation where my ecm is not providing me ground to the start relay. I have confirmed operation of the brake switch, and the ignition switch, I have also confirmed continuity through all those wires. I have 12v at the relay terminals for the start relay, and also 3.5v on the ground terminal on the relay pins being provided by the ecm. Everything is supposedly working correctly BUT my ecm will not give me ground to the start relay when I turn the key. Does anyone have any ideas on where I should look next ?
