For all of you out there complaining about the Polaris comfort clutch, the inside cab noise, and lack of power, there is an awesome upgrade. Just reach out to JT Barlow on this website for more details. I had my Xpedition up there (Mesquite Nv.) for 1 week, and the work they did on my rig was an amazing difference. They have an upgrade called the "High Desert Package" which includes clutch, and tune from AA Assassins, sound deadening, poly fill all of the voids under the skid plate and added heat shield to affected areas. The sound deadening and poly fill alone dropped the sound level by 8-9 dBs, which is huge and is definitely noticeable. They also take the shocks off and add a schrader valve to all 4 shocks so you can check nitrogen pressure, and they set the correct ride height. Basically, what this upgrade does is wakes up the power of this motor and at the same time quiets it down quite a bit. I couldn't be any happier with the total results of this upgrade. If anyone is interested in the work High Desert Unlimited does, reach out to JT Barlow on this website for more details and pics of the work they did on my 2025 Xpedition ADV 5 Northstar.

Thank you 😊. I thoroughly enjoyed working on your Xpedition and hopefully it’s a much more enjoyable machine now!

I didn’t take pictures of insulation work, since it’s the same as I’ve previously posted, but here’s some of the sound dampening work. I’ve been improving that with each Xpedition we’ve done.

We also sealed off the gaps around the seat belt rear seat mounts that let dust and hot air into the cab.

And here’s the decibel readings at an idle and at 8600 rpm after doing all the insulation and sound dampening.

JT,

Do you have a website? Im know interested in knowing everything you offer.

Thanks!
We have a website dedicated to our camp trailers: Home - HighCountry Unlimited
But for the SxS work I’ve just been communicating here on the forum.
We’re not technically a SxS shop but as enthusiasts, we’ve taken on a couple SxS projects with full builds with Full Vehicle Wrap, Long Travel suspension, Shock Tuning, Lights, Coms and Radios, Clutch kit and ECU tune, Wheels and tires, Aftermarket Exhaust, Accessories, and our sound dampening and insulation. Out of the 13 Xpeditions we’ve done so far, 8 have been our HighCountry Package, which includes:

•Insulation and Sound Dampening
•Clutch Kit and ECU Tune
•Floor Mats
•Install Schrader valves on the shock nitrogen caps and set nitrogen pressure
•Adjust ride height

We work with Aftermarket Assassins for the clutch kit and ECU Tunes, Union Graphic Co. in Hurricane, UT for the Wraps, UTV PROs for Shock Service and Tuning (Shrader valve nitrogen caps and nitrogen setting I do in-house), and we’ve used HCR for the Long Travel suspensions but they’re still way behind on orders since the SATV acquisition. We’re keeping an eye on JRI Suspensions, which is some of the people that formerly ran HCR and they’re close to releasing their Xpedition Long Travel setup.

Hope this answers your question 🙂

JTBarlow,

Sounds like things are going well at your shop. I noticed you guys have wraps on your trailers and I was wondering how well that held up. I started to have this trailer wrapped prior to doing any work to it, but based on the heavy cactus, mesquite's and ocotillos here in Southern Arizona, I shied away from it assuming it would completely destroy the wrap.

Your thoughts?

A well done wrap actually holds up pretty well. We see some small damage occasionally from rocks and gravel thrown from the tires when we’re running high speeds. I haven’t seen any damage from branches and such down the sides. A lot of it is picking a track that avoids the majority of the scrubs and branches since anything that might damage the wrap is typically going to scratch up the machine as well. With your trailer being narrower than ours, I’d think a wrap wouldn’t be a problem.
